Everyone in the near future will write about SCOTUS and POTUS. We will not hear anything else for the next 45 days (at least during this election). Oh, don’t worry, there will be distractions, but there will be nothing more important than the nomination of a new SCOTUS justice. I am sitting at home thinking about this daily, hourly, minute-ly (if that is even a thing).
Being in California has changed many things for me, and made me think of major national events like this differently. Maybe I have not been involved in Politics as much while here, maybe I have not fundraised for major campaigns for a while, maybe I am just not as involved as I used to be. The truth is it is killing me. To have people who find that they are more important that those who serve others, is hilarious. I have spent hours working via phone and calling politicians in Pennsylvania to work on electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
While people have wondered where I stand on this issue, I have been at every single Democratic National Convention IN PERSON for the last 6 Conventions. I am hard pressed to find anyone who stands on that side of history. I appreciate people going through the history of my Twitter posts, but attempting to re-write history will not be done! Appreciate it though. I have served the Democratic Party for almost 20 years, was Twitter (and consequently posting) a thing almost 20 years ago? Me thinks not!
Nonetheless, I did not support Joe Biden at the beginning of the primaries, because as an LGBTQIA+ person, I preferred Mayor Pete. Pete did not happen, but I will always in the end support a Democrat, fundraise for a Democrat, be involved for a Democrat.
I hope that many who have taken time to call into question my past, ask me to “do the work”, or created hardship by taking word’s out of context the absolute best! However, I have always done what I felt was right, worked tirelessly for those that I believe have worked tirelessly for people, and given when I could. I wish the same for all of you! Now, copy and paste!
